About
The Bergdolt-Reif & Nett winery is located in the centre of the Palatinate in Duttweiler, a small wine village between Speyer and Neustadt an der Weinstraße. The foundation stone was laid back in 1838 with the construction of the sandstone vaulted cellars. After a division of the estate in 1900, an adoption and marriage, the winery is now run by us, the Nett family, in the fifth generation.
The vines grow here at an altitude of 120-140 metres above sea level, nestled in an almost Mediterranean landscape where kiwis, figs, almonds and chestnuts also ripen. The character of our wines is characterised by soil layers over ten metres thick, consisting mainly of loess and clay with fine limestone veins.
Calm and restraint reign in the cellar: we give ourselves and the wines plenty of time! From gentle pressing of the grapes to controlled fermentation of the musts and a long period of fine lees storage for the young wines, right through to the final bottling.
